The First UK printing published by Jonathan Cape in 1986. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just the usual toning to the text-block and page edges due to the quality of paper stock used. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just the slightest creasing at the upper spine tip. The Fred Marcellino wrapper artwork looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. The book was signed at the Hay Literary Festival in 2018 where Margaret Atwood appeared. The Handmaid's Tale won the Arthur C. Clarke award in 1985 and has been adapted into a film (1990), an opera (2000), and, in 2017, a highly popular television series. Very scarce with such attributes.
