Bolan, Marc ~ The Warlock Of Love : With The Scarce Wrapper
Lupus Music : 1969
The first UK printing published by Lupus Music in 1969 . The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Just a hint of pushing at the spine ends with a tiny area of rubbing to the lower corners. Publisher's photographic hardcovers. Free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just a little light toning to the edges. It replicates the cover design. A very small amount of creasing and rubbing at the spine tips with a tiny amount of rubbing to the corners. The wrapper looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A notoriously fragile production and extremely uncommon in this condition. Songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan went through various personas and images, but is best remembered as a pioneer of the Glam-rock era of the early-mid '70s and the co-creator of T-Rex (1968-70), a psychedelic-folk rock acoustic band, playing Bolan's deceptively melodic songs-complete with J. R. R. Tolkien-influenced lyrics. Bolan published this, his only collection of verse in 1969; this proved hugely popular and was one Britain's best-selling books of poetry in 1970. Bolan always maintained he was a poet who put lyrics to music; melodies were never as important as the words. Collectible.
