Garner, Alan ~ The Weirdstone Of Brisingamen: Signed And Dated By The Author On Publication Day
Collins, London : 1960.
The First UK printing published by Collins, London in 1960. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Some bumping to the corners with toning to the text-block and page edges. Free from inscriptions. Minor expert professional restoration to the spine ends with rebacking of the original spine. Light offsetting to the B/W map endpapers designed by Charles Green. Small penned number '31' to the front upper pastedown which is obscured by the front flap. The WRAPPER is neatly price-clipped and is in near Fine condition. Mild edge-wear with a little rubbing at the corners and folds. Short closed tears to the lower rear edge and the front lower spine fold. The George Adamson wrapper artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed on the day of publication to the author's cousin and god-daughter: 'For Brenda, Alan, 10.X.60'. The author's very scarce first title in the acclaimed 'Alderney edge' trilogy. Alan Garner signed titles are very thin on the ground. Very collectible with such attributes.
