Gurney, Ivor ~ Severn & Somme : The Scarce First Issue
Sidgwick and Jackson, London: 1917
The First UK printing published by Sidgwick and Jackson, London in 1917. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition. The publisher's original red cloth with a title label on the spine. Two pages of adverts to the rear as called for. Moderate pushing at the spine ends with some fading and toning to the spine. Mild bumping to the corners with some dustiness and rubbing to the spine label. The binding remains very tight. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Light toning to the text block and page edges. Protected in a loose Mylar cover. The author's very scarce first book containing forty-six poems, all but a few of which were written while he was on active service. Lacking the elusive wrapper. A collectible copy of an increasingly scarce title. Only the second copy we have handled.
