The First USA printing published by Doubleday & Co., New York in 1977. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Quarter black cloth, over mustard boards with gilt lettering to the spine. The correct First Issue with 'First Edition' on the copyright page and 'R49' printer's code in the gutter of the margin on page 447. A little pushing with a few nicks at the spine ends. A small mark to the front board with some spotting to the board edges. Spotting to the text-block but the pages remain clean. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. It is the correct first issue with the price of $8.95 to the upper front flap. Mild rubbing at the corners and upper spine ends. Mild fading to the spine. The Dave Christensen wrapper artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front blank end-paper: 'For Tim, best, Stephen King 9/9/79'. The author's third novel, famously adapted by Stanley Kubrick for film.
