The First UK printing published by Jonathan Cape in 1927. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Mild offsetting to the end papers. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The brown top-stain remains very vibrant. The gilt titling to the spine remains bright. Tissue guard to frontis present. The exceptionally scarce 2-page summary of 'Travels in Arabia Deserta' by Charles M. Doughty with testimonials and an order form tipped in to page 434 as called for. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. A little toning and fading of the red lettering to the spine. Mild edge-wear otherwise the wrapper is in lovely condition and presents very well in the removable Brodart archival cover. The precursor to 'Seven Pillars' which was not published until 1935. Illustrated with 11 colour plates, including 6 by E. Kennington, and 8 B&W illustrations. Fold out map at rear present. A very sharp copy and extremely scarce as such.
