The First UK printing published by Jonathan Cape in 2001. Both the BOOK and WRAPPER are in near Fine condition. The book is free from inscriptions and erasures. The wrapper is protected in a loose Mylar archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) to the title page by the author. 295 pages fo full page B/W photographs covering all areas of Don McCullin's work. There is also an Essay by Susan Sontag. Not to be confused with the more recent revised reissue of this title in 2015. With The 'Sunday Times Magazine August 2013' featuring an 8 page article ' A Life In Conflict' reviewing the work of Don McCullin with many B/W photographs. The magazine is in Very Good+ condition. With 'The Observer February 2019 The New review' which includes a 8 page article on Don McCullin. The latter is in very good++ condition with one horizontal fold. Sir Donald McCullin, CBE, Hon FRPS is a British photojournalist, particularly recognised for his war photography and images of urban strife. His career, which began in 1959, has specialised in examining the underside of society, and his photographs have depicted the unemployed, downtrodden and the impoverished. There was a major and highly acclaimed Tate Britain retrospective exhibition of his work in 2019. An important monograph covering the work of photo journalist and social documentarian Don McCullin. Collectible with such attributes.
