Winner of the 'Author's Club First Novel Award'
Sillitoe, Alan ~ Saturday Night And Sunday Morning
W.H. Allen : 1958
The First UK printing published by W.H. Allen in 1958. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light pushing at the spine ends with a slither of fading to the upper spine tip. Gilt titling remains bright. A little toning and dustiness to the text-block. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Mild edge-wear with some loss at the spine ends. A 3 cm closed tear to the lower front spine fold with a 2cm closed tear to the front lower edge. A little rubbing at the corners. Nicks with a little edge loss. The red lettering to the spine is slightly faded. Some age related markings but the Mona Moore designed wrapper remains very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A far better example than usually encountered. One of the author's highlight titles which won the 'Author's Club First Novel Award' and was successfully adapted for film starring Albert Finney in the title role.
