Light toning to the text-block but otherwise a very sharp copy with no inscriptions and clean internally. Original publisher's russet cloth with gilt titling. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition with just a hint of edge-wear and a little toning and fading of the colouring to the spine. The pictorial wrapper designed by C(ecil) W. Bacon remains striking in the Brodart archival cover. The author's debut novel and one of only 2000 copies. The first title in the Nigerian author's African trilogy, which also includes NO LONGER AT EASE (1960) and ARROW OF GOD (1964). 'Things Fall Apart' was selected by TIME magazine on one of its '100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005,' and by the BBC for its '100 Novels That Shaped Our World.' An enduring and landmark book, central to the development of the 20th-century novel in English and now a foundation text of postcolonial African literature. "The popularity of Things Fall Apart in my own society can be explained simply", commented Achebe.
