Free from inscriptions and erasures. Some very light spotting to the text-block but internally clean. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with just a hint of fading of the colouring to the spine. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. Housed within the publisher's original illustrated slipcase, which has some very light markings to the cloth ends. The book has been signed by the author to the verso of the half-title page : 'Yours very sincerely, Richard Adams'. The first illustrated edition profusely illustrated in colour and B/W drawings by John Lawrence. A very sharp copy of the author's classic title.
