The scarcest of the 'Poldark' titles
Graham, Winston ~ Demelza
Ward Lock & Co., London : 1946
The First UK Printing published by Ward Lock & Co., London in 1946. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition. Some light pushing and fading at the extreme spine tips. Some very light age related markings but otherwise the boards are remarkably clean for their age. Some light toning and spotting to the text-block with some spotting to the prelims and to the extreme page edges in places, due to the poor quality of the paper stock used to conform with the war economy standards. Free from inscriptions. A mild crease to the lower corner of the first 10 pages. The fragile WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Correctly priced at '9/6net' to the lower front flap fold. Some rubbing and creasing to the spine ends, folds and edges. Some fading of colouring to the spine. A small water stain to the lower spine which has encroached on to the lower rear panel but is barely discernible. The wrapper artwork remains striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The second title in the acclaimed 'Poldark' series and by far the scarcest. Collectible.
