The First UK printing published by Hodder & Stoughton, London in 1939. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Light ghosting to the spine and a little pushing to the corners and spine ends. Blue end-papers as issued. Neat previous owner's name to front pastedown and above this is a small tipped in birthday handwritten presentation label. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. Some light edge-wear with small closed tears, nicks and some rubbing. Toning to the spine and edges. Some loss to the upper spine just encroaching on the word 'Trouble' in the titling. The wrapper remains striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The sixth and final title in the iconic ‘Mapp and Lucia’ series. Extremely scarce with the wrapper.
