The First UK Printing (full number-line 1-10) published by Ebury Press, London in 2003. The BOOK is in near Fine condition and appears unread. A hint of toning to the text block and page margins, otherwise clean and free from erasures and inscriptions. A few tiny superficial indentations to the rear board. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. A very mild area of creasing to the upper spine and some superficial indentations to the rear panel. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been Signed (without dedication) by George Best to the title page. A very uncommon title to find as a true first printing and certainly signed. With ten related ephemeral items : Item 1 : The Order of Service for ‘The Funeral Of George Best 1946-2005’, Stormont Buildings, Belfast, 3rd December 2005’. A 8 page booklet with printed card covers in Fine condition. Amongst others, Denis Law led the tributes. Item 2 : The Order of Service For ‘The Service To Celebrate The Life Of George Best, Manchester Cathedral 16th March 2006'. An 8 page booklet with printed card covers in Fine condition. This service to celebrate the life of George Best took place in Manchester 3 months after the funeral. David Sadler and Wilf McGuiness delivered the tributes and Sir Alex Ferguson gave an interview. Item 3 : United Review 1963. Manchester United match-day programme for a home game vs West Brom. George Best’s first match for Manchester United. Best is not mentioned in the programme but was a late addition to the team. Hole punched. Neat tape repair to page 2, some penned annotations to the team list and league scores. The Man Utd cut out token neatly clipped. Item 4 : A Programme For Europeans Champion’s Cup Final 1968 between Manchester United and Benfica in which Best aged 22yrs, scored in Manchester’s 4-1 victory. A Very Good++ or better copy. Item 5 : Manchester United Luncheon Club menu for 9th March 1998 at which George Best was the guest speaker. Item 6 : Programme for Manchester United v QPR 1st January 1974. George Best’s Last game for Manchester United (some H/W annotations to the last page team player lay out). Item 7 : Programme for Manchester United v Northampton 7th February 1970. George Best scored 6 goals in an 8-2 win. Item 8 : Official Souvenir Brochure/ Programme For George Best’s Testimonial 8th August 1988. Item 9: 1878 Magazine number 10 in which George best contributes a five page article. Item 10 : Manchester United Rosette (1966), penned in blue biro on the paper card on the verso '5-11-1966, Manchester United 3, Chelsea 1'.10 extremely scarce ephemeral items relating to George Best and Manchester United. Very scarce with such attributes.
