With the scarce wrapper designed by Michael Ayrton

Camus, Albert ~ The Plague

Hamish Hamilton, London : 1948

The First UK printing published by Hamish Hamilton, London in 1948. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light ghosting to the spine as usually encountered. Slight pushing at the spine tips. Light toning and spotting to the text-block with mild offsetting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER os complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. A little light edge-wear with a slither of loss and a little creasing at the upper spine tip. Mild spotting to the rear panel with light toning to the spine. Some very light creasing to the upper front panel. The Michael Ayrton wrapper artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. One of Camus' classic titles and rarely found in such collectible condition.
