The First UK Printing published by Bloomsbury in 2004. The BOOK is in near FINE condition with just a minor superficial scratch to the dark front text block. It appears unread. The WRAPPER is in also in near FINE condition and is complete. One pinpoint superficial minor rub to the upper rear cover. The Black cover looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival protector. There is no precedent regarding the black or white cover as the first state : Both were issued at the same time on publication. The book has been SIGNED by both Susanna Clarke and the illustrator Portia Rosenberg to the title page. The book is accompanied by a loose set - number 4 (of a limited edition of 250 sets of digital reproductions in A4 size) of the illustrations that were used in the book. Each of the 27 digital reproductions within the set are HAND SIGNED and HAND NUMBERED by PORTIA ROSENBERG and are printed on satin 160gsm paper. The sets were issued by the illustrator and are housed in a portfolio provided by the illustrator to accompany the sets. A H/W letter from the illustrator accompanies the set for provenance. The letter states that the series was limited to 250 sets and that this will be the only signed limited edition series of the book illustrations that will be produced in this size and format. The best selling debut novel which was released on the BBC in 2015. Very scarce with such attributes. More images available on request.
