The First UK printing published by Heinemann, London in 1943. The BOOK is in Very Good condition. Light pushing and fading to the spine ends. Moderate lean with a hint of fading to the extreme upper edges and corners. Light toning to the text-block and page edges due to the quality of the wartime paper stock used. Free from inscriptions. The fragile WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good- condition. A little loss at the spine ends and corners. Light edge-wear with some rolling, toning and markings to the spine. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The author's classic comedy which was revived in 2019 at the Old Vic theatre for which Andrew Scott won The 'Best Actor Evening Standard 2019' award for the leading role. Very scarce with the wrapper.
