The sole printing published by Athens, The American College Of Greece in 1999. Number ‘V’ of only ten specially bound copies for presentation from a total limitation of 1250 copies. Signed By Patrick Leigh Fermor to the limitation page. Bound in full morocco with blind stamped titling as issued. Typography and design by Matthew Jennett. The text of a letter addressed to Oxford professor Constantine Trypanis (in English and Greek) about the contemporary Cretan poet and resistance hero George Psychoundakis who translated both the Iliad and The Odyssey into his local Cretan Dialect. Psychoundakis was also the author of 'The Cretan Runner', a memoir of the Cretan occupation which Leigh Fermor had translated and also had provided the introduction. Loosely laid in are the invitation and programme for the book launch at The American College of Greece, Aghia Paraskevi on the 1st November 1999. A handsome production. Scarce.
