The First UK printing published by Hutchinson in 1971. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition with only slight pushing at the spine tips. Some light spotting and toning in places to the text block. The usually encountered offsetting to the grey end papers. The pages remain clean. Free from erasures and inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition with only very slight fading of the red colouring to the spine. Some edge wear with rubbing at the spine ends and corners. Some creasing of the flaps. Some small closed tears with rubbing to the edges in places. The iconic wrapper design remains very striking in the removable Brodart archival protector. The book has been signed (without dedication) and dated by Frederick Forsyth to the title page. Accompanied by a loosely inserted B/W photo of the actor Edward Fox as 'The Jackal' which has been signed by him. The author's landmark title which was a best seller 1973 film adaptation starring Edward Fox and Derek Jacobi. Extremely scarce to find as a signed and uninscribed copy. Highly collectible.
