The First UK printing published by Collins, London in 1967. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light pushing at the spine tips with some very slight toning to the text-block. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Light edge-wear with light rubbing at the folds, spine ends and corners. Mild toning to the spine with a small closed tear to the upper rear spine fold. Light toning to the flap and rear cover edges with some mild age related markings to the rear panel. The wrapper presents well in the removable Brodart archival folder. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page : 'Alan Garner, 19.1X.98.' Although there are no attributing features, this book has come from the personal library of acclaimed children's writers Jill Paton Walsh and John Rowe Townsend. Very scarce with such attributes.
