The Basis For The Classic Hitchcock Film Adaptation

Hamilton, Patrick ~ Rope

Constable, London : 1929

A First UK printing published by Constable, London in 1929. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition with original patterned wrappers with flaps. Title labels to the front and the spine. Book retains the publisher's original price to the front flap (2/-). The fragile spine is rubbed and frayed with a little loss to the label edges and to the lower half (see image). The book has a minor lean. The text block is age toned. The front and rear covers show the patterned period design very well. Free from inscriptions. The binding remains tight and the book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. A very scarce title to find as the first issue. In 1948 the book was successfully adapted into what is now seen as a classic film by the director Alfred Hitchcock. Scarce.
