A near Fine copy in like wrapper with just a hint of sunning to the spine. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. Signed and numbered by Seamus Heaney on the limitation page, and with the original errata bookmark loosely laid in as issued. A version of 'Philoctetes' by Seamus Heaney, after Sophocles. This first Irish edition of Heaney's verse, a re-imagining of the classic Greek tragedy of the Trojan War. A very sharp copy. With the 18 page theatre programme for the world premiere Field Day Company production of the play ‘Cure At Troy’. Heaney contributes a one page ‘A note on the Play’. A very scarce ephemeral item in its own right. The programme is in Very Good++ condition with just a little rubbing and marking to the covers. The programme is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. Heaney was one of the Directors of the Field Day Company. Both the wrapper and the programme cover feature the same cover design painting by Basil Blackshaw. A sharp copy.
