"The BOOK ' Teatri e Scenografie ' published by the Touring Club Italiano in 1976 is in Near FINE condition with minimal rubbing at the corners .This is the first Italian edition and was issued without a dust jacket.A photographic survey of theatrical spaces and set designs in Italy from the Renaissance to the 1970s.It was presented to choreographer Carolyn Choa by various cast and crew members of the 1999 film 'The Talented Mr Ripley',including her husband the film's director, the late Anthony Minghella.Choa was responsible for staging the opera scene in the film. This book was among a selection of books originally bought from the estate of Anthony Minghella in late 2008.There are 27 inscriptions on the half-title page including, one from someone called Ivan who came up with the clever joke 'One-Gin is not enough...' referring to the fact that the sequence Choa staged is the duel scene from the Opera Eugene Onegin. This scene was one of the most lauded aspects of the film. The enthusiasm in the inscriptions is heartfelt. The only noteworthy absentee from the signatories is Jude Law. Among the inscriptions are the following: - what a magnificent job , Carolyn , I really wish I could have seen the whole thing ! love Matt ( Damon ) : - Carolyn , I want to go back back back on zee stage ..beautiful x Cate Blanchett : - Carolyn , sitting on the (?) watching the duel was a thrill - I never realised how beautifully singers could move -love larry K ( Kaplan ) : - Dearest partner in Crime , Buon lavora! Ant x ( Minghella).A superb item with a wonderful association and a unique signed piece of cinematic memorabilia"
