The sole printing published by The Rainbow Press, London in 1978. The numbered limited edition, this being number '11' of only 200 copies, signed by Ted Hughes on the limitation page. Only 150 were for sale. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with just a hint of spotting to the prelims and a touch of fading to the spine. Striking patterned end-papers. Free from inscriptions. The B/W frontispiece illustration is by Leonard Baskin. Bound in the original full black calf gilt by Zaehnsdorf, top edge gilt, printed at the John Roberts Press London, set in Bodoni types and printed on Italian handmade paper. Housed in the publishers original black cloth slipcase as issued. 63 new poems many of which were written for the second part of 'Gaudete' (Faber, 1977) but not included therein. With the extremely scarce publisher's Flyer for this title. Single printed leaf, protected in a Secol archival cover. (Sagar and Tabor A56). A very handsome production.
