The First UK printing published by The Hogarth Press in 1935. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Original green boards with black lettering to the spine. Toning and light spotting to the text-block. Some offsetting and spotting to the prelims. Free from inscriptions. The spine colouring remains bright with none of the usual ghosting to the spine. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Some splitting along the spine folds with some expert professional Japanese tissue repairs to the spine folds to the verso. Some toning to the spine and edges but far less than usually encountered. The John Banting wrapper artwork looks striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. A superior example of Isherwood's fictionalised memoirs of Weimar Berlin. One of only 1,730 copies issued. Housed in a custom solander box with labels and titling.
