8vo., bright green boards, backstrip lettered with decorative lines in black; complete in the unclipped pictorial dustwrapper (12s. 6d. net to front flap) featuring a bold image in pink, lime green and black; THE BOOK with a couple of small marks, and lightly bumped to spine tips, very mild offsetting to endpapers, and one tiny scratch to the fore-edge; else near-fine; THE WRAPPER a little shelf darkened in places, with some tiny nicks and chips mostly affecting ends of spine and folds; completely unrestored internally, and seldom found in this bright a condition. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. Early reprint, the FIRST WITH THIS DUSTWRAPPER ARTWORK. The first edition first appeared in 1928 under the title 'When the Cook is Away'. Uncommon in the dustwrapper.
