The First UK printing published by Ernest Benn, London in 1952. 156 pp. The BOOK is in near Fine condition and appears unread. Publisher's original red cloth titled in blue to spine, with blue line-drawing of a Moomin to the upper board. Some light spotting to the text block edge and a hint of offsetting to the front free end-paper. The original un-clipped WRAPPER is equally in near Fine condition, showing price '8/6' to inner flap on publisher's price label with the publication price of 7/6 underneath. Just a hint of edge-wear and a little darkening tot eh folds and spine. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. Jansson's wonderful B/W illustrations throughout An exceptional copy of Jansson's third instalment of the Moomin stories. Very collectible.
