The First printing published by The Black Sun Press, New York in 1936. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with the publisher's original decorated boards. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Small remnant of a bookseller sticker to the lower rear pastedown. Appears unread with some pages still uncut. Frontispiece portrait from a drawing by Augustus John with the tissue guard present. Blue silk bookmark is present. The original plain glassine WRAPPER is present and has mild edge wear with some chips to the rear upper edge. The glassine is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. One of 750 copies, out of a total edition of 800 copies set and printed by hand under the supervision of Caresse Crosby who designed the book. Includes the first appearance in the U.S.A. of 'Pomes Penyeach' and the first appearance in any edition of the poem 'Ecce Puer'. A handsome production.
