A set of 3 Booklets : 1) The First Issue of 'Clouds Hill' published by the National Trust, London in 1939. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Original green printed card covers priced "threepence" to the front cover and dated 1939, marking this as the First Issue of the NT booklet. There is an old rusted paperclip mark to the front cover and a small mark to the lower cover. 14 pages with one B/W photo ( By Howard Coster) of T.E. Lawrence as the frontis. A hint of spotting to the text-block. Internally some very light creasing and free from inscriptions. The subscription order form to the rear is still present and clean. Mild rusting to the staples. The contents contain a 9 page chapter 'T.E. Lawrence and Clouds Hill' by Liddell Hart and a 4 page 'Catalogue of contents at Clouds Hill'. 2) The Second Issue of 'Clouds Hill' published by the Country Life Ltd. for National Trust, London in 1946. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition. Original green printed card covers priced "sixpence" to the front cover and dated 1946, marking this as the second Issue of the NT booklet. 16 pages with no frontis as issued. 4 B/W plates of The Bust of Lawrence (Eric Kennington) and three of rooms in the house. The plate pages have become detached from the staples. Some creasing to the covers and internally. Some light spotting in places. The Subscription Form to the rear card cover remains clean. Loosely inserted is a H/W letter dated 8/9/48 from someone working at Clouds Hill replying to a visitor enquiry. 3) The larger format 1982 edition of the revised 1980 expanded format with more chapters and different plates. This copy bears the bookplate of G.R. Williams. A little spotting to the covers. T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) died on 19 May 1935 following a motorcycle accident near the cottage. His brother Arnold (A. W. Lawrence) inherited the property and presented it to the National Trust in 1936. The cottage officially opened to the public as a museum in 1938. A set of very scarce ephemeral items.
