The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. FIRST UK EDITION, this copy neatly signed by the author to the title page. The third book in Leon's 'Guido Brunetti' series, which follows a fictional detective in the Italian state police stationed in Venice. This novel, which appeared in the U.S. under the alternative title 'Dressed for Death', follows the discovery of a badly beaten body outside of a slaughterhouse, and Brunetti's search for the elusive killer - one who moves in the highest echelons of finance, the government, and even the Church. Preceded by just two titles - 'Death at La Fenice' (1992) and 'Death in a Strange Country' (1993) - The Anonymous Venetian represents a relatively early work in this series of books, which currently number 33 novels. Incredibly scarce with the printed price to the dustwrapper. Most copies were left unpriced as intended for the export market.
