The First UK printing by MacGibbon & Kee, London in 1960. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Light toning and spotting to the text-block with mild offsetting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ condition. Very light edge-wear with light fading of the red colouring to the spine and a trace of spotting to the rear cover and flap edges. A small bookseller's sticker to the lower front flap. The Stein wrapper artwork is striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. A ticket for the signing event is loosely laid in as provenance. The author's scarce first novel.
