The sole UK printing published by Incline Press, Oldham, UK in 2000. First edition, Number '15' of 160 regular copies issued. The BOOK is in near Fine condition and appears unread. Some very light spotting to the upper text-block. No Inscriptions or erasures. 27 coloured linocuts by Enid Marx, with the colour scheme by Peter Allen. Each linocut is accompanied by doggerel verse by the artist. Bound in the publisher's original cloth decorated boards with patterned papers Marx designed in the late 1920s for 'The Little Gallery' in London. Hand printed on Fabriano Artistico acid free paper. Selling at £180 on 2000. There were also 15 special copies with an extra set of the linocuts. Loosely laid in is the publisher's pre-publication Order Form, the publisher's Prospectus and the publisher's Flyer which are all in Fine condition. Accompanying this book is a portfolio entitled 'Enid Marx : A miscellany of engravings printed from the wood for subscribers to Incline Press : November 2000'. Inside this portfolio are 8 B/W engravings (including the engraving printed on the rear page of the portfolio) in different sizes by Enid Marx. There is also a full page colour Prospectus for 'Marco's Animal Alphabet' which has not been folded down. All are in Fine condition condition. Additionally laid in is firstly a publisher's Flyer dated 2000 for an illustrated talk by Dr Leo De Freitas on 'John Tenniel's Illustrations to Alice', and secondly an Incline Press Keepsake for the 'Oak Knoll Book Fest, Delaware' again dated 2000. A very handsome book production accompanied by ephemera celebrating the work of Enid Marx. Scarce.
