The First UK printing published by Jonathan Cape in 1969. This is the scarce Hardback edition which was released in a very small print run. The BOOK is in near FINE condition. The upper text block is a little toned and dusty with a little toning to the page edges. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good+ condition. The spine has a hint of toning and the white background colouring on the wraparound design is slightly marked and toned in places (see images). The period wrapper artwork by LEIGH TAYLOR looks very striking and evocative of the time in the removable Brodart archival protector. The book has been Signed and Dated by the author to the title page. McGough's first collection and extremely scarce in this casebound state with these attributes.
