The book has been signed by the author to the title page: ' Jan Morris, (ne James Morris!)'. 'In the five years since Everest, James Morris has established his reputations a brilliant commentator on people, places and events. Then he was simply the anonymous Special Correspondent of 'The Times'. This glittering retrospect of his dramatic assignment may well become a classic of its kind. with wit, verve and style it captures the very essence of the great expedition: the climbers themselves: the Sherpas: the rival newsmen : the boredom: the moments pf black despair and the moments of triumph : the grandeur of the greatest mountains in the world. To read it is to share the splendour that was 'Coronation Everest' ' (Front flap blurb). Very scarce with such attributes.
