The First UK printing published by Faber and Faber, London in 1958. The BOOK is in near Fine condition with light pushing at the spine tips. Light spotting and toning to the text-block. Some offsetting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is in Very Good+ or better condition. Some edge-wear at the spine ends with a little loss and rubbing. Light toning to the spine. Some slight age related markings and tiny spots of rubbing in places. A small chip to the lower rear edge and a little loss at the corners. A few small closed tears which have been reinforced with small amounts of tape to the verso. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page and a copy of the ticket for the signing event is loosely laid in as provenance. A very early title from the late author and very elusive with such attributes.
