Morris, James (Jan) ~ The Market Of Seleukia : Signed By The Author
Faber and Faber, London : 1957
The First UK printing published by Faber and Faber in 1957. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition with slight pushing at the spine ends. A little light marking to the board covers with slight fading of the cloth at the lower spine end. The gilt titling remains bright. Light toning to the text-block with some offsetting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. Some slight edge-wear with some small nicks and a little loss at the extreme spine ends. Just a hint of fading of the red colouring to the spine. Reinforcement tape to closed tears to the verso. The wrapper remains very presentable and is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been Signed (without dedication) by the author to the title page. A copy of the ticket for the signing event accompanies the title as provenance. The third scarce title from the acclaimed travel writer James (now Jan) Morris. Collectible.
