The First UK printing published by Gwasg Gregynog, Newtown in 1993. Foolscap 8vo. The special edition being number 'XX' of 'L' bounding quarter green goatskin, paper boards, gold rule, titled in gilt to the spine and housed within the original cloth-backed slipcase. The frontispiece and six other tipped-in illustrations are by Brenda Berman. The book was designed by John Ryder. The BOOK and SLIPCASE are all in Fine condition. The publisher's original prospectus and order form for the book are loosely inserted along with a publisher's compliments slip. This trilogy evokes three periods in the history of the Welsh town. The Welsh Rebellion against the English of the early 15th century, the present situation of 1991, and 'Y Dyfodol/The Future' imagines Machynlleth as the capital of the Welsh Republic celebrating an anniversary. A now elusive and very handsome production from the acclaimed travel writer.
