'Fisher's Face' : The second UK printing published by Viking, London in 1994. The BOOK and WRAPPER are in near Fine condition. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The book has been signed 'Jack Fisher , Jan Morris' with a heart shaped doodle between their names. Accompanying this book is the author's own personal 28 loose paged typescript for a talk she gave at the Hay literary Festival in 1994 re Admiral Fisher and the launch of this book. The typescript entitled 'Hay Festival / Jack Fisher' is signed (without dedication) and has some penned annotations by Jan Morris. The previous owner of this typescript attended this literary event and when he met the author after the talk, she gave him the typescript as a gift and agreed to sign it. 'Fisher's Face' is a novelistic portrait of Lord Admiral Jack Fisher, the man who modernised the Royal Navy in time for WW1. Loosely inserted is the clipping for 'The Observer Review' of 26th February 1995 with Penelope Fitzgerald's review of this book in which she examines Morris' life-long obsession with Jack Fisher. A unique ephemeral item from the late acclaimed travel writer.
