The First UK printing, privately printed in London in 1922. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. One of only 200 trade copies issued. Photographic frontispiece. Original blue paper covered boards, spine and front cover labels printed in black, edges untrimmed. Spine lightly toned, with some faint offsetting to the endpapers. The contents are clean with just some light toning to the page edges due to the quality of the paper stock used. Nicholson (1866-1931), a member of the Uranian school of poets and of the Order of Chaeronea, was an English schoolteacher who wrote in his poetry of his passionate attachments to several students. He was a student of Frederick Rolfe, known as "Baron Corvo", at King Edward VI Grammar School, and the two continued a tempestuous friendship until their falling out in 1887. The book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. Scarce in such collectible condition.
