An espionage thriller by Anthony Price, who served in the British Army from 1947 to 1949, and in total wrote 19 works in the Dr David Audley/Colonel Jack Butler series, which focused on a group of counter-intelligence agents working for a fictional agency based loosely around the real MI5. The Labyrinth Makers combines Kremlin politicians with the search for lost treasure, and a mysterious uncovered wreck of an RAF bomber, lost at sea during WW2. The book was quickly followed by its sequel, The Alamut Ambush, in 1971, which once again concerns a missing airliner, but with Palestinian guerilla forces. The book won the 'Silver Dagger Award' for best crime novel of the year in the year of publication. Scarce.
