The Sole UK printing published by Chapman & Hall in 1913. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition. Original publisher's blue cloth, lettered black on the spine and the front cover. Some light markings to the boards with a little rubbing along the folds and extreme edges. Light offsetting to the endpapers with some spotting to the prelims and just a hint of spotting in a few places otherwise. Poems include: 'Dusk in the Lane', 'The Ledbury Road', 'The Malvern Hills', 'Eastnor Churchyard' and 'Casend Hill'. The book has been signed (without dedication) by the author to the front end-paper : ' M. Radclyffe-Hall'. An early collection of poetry from this acclaimed author who subsequently dropped her first name and wrote under the name 'Radclyffe Hall'. Accompanied by an interesting piece of ephemera loosely laid in relating to the author : A folded two page letter (dated October 1915) from the Registrar of 'The Primrose League' requesting those 'knights and dames' to pay their unpaid tributes. Accompanied by a loosely inserted folded two page 'Primrose League Registration Form ' dated August 1915 naming those members who were in arrears of paying their tributes. Among the names listed are Marguerite Radclyffe-Hall. The Primrose League was founded in 1883 as an organisation for spreading Conservative principles in Great Britain. Collectible.
