The sole UK printing published by The Hogarth Press, London in 1948. Number '510' of only 700 copies printed for sale. Signed by the author to the limitation page. The BOOK is in Very Good++ or better condition. Original brown quarter buckram, spine lettered in gilt, marbled sides, bevelled edges. Vey slight markings to the buckram. Title page printed in red and black. Some offsetting to the blank end-papers with a hint of spotting in places. Very light toning and spotting to the text-block. The novella 'The Equilibriad' features early illustrations by Lucian Freud with 5 B/W striking plates by the artist. The original publisher's printed glassine wrapper is present bearing the book title, author and price of '£1 1s net' to the front flap. Though creased in places, it is amazingly complete except for a largish chip at the upper front panel. The wrapper is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. A handsome production and now very elusive with the glassine.
