Light pushing at the spine ends with just a hint of rubbing at the corners. The yellow/green top-stain remains vibrant. The gilt titling and decorations to the spine and front cover are bright. Internally, very light offsetting to the blank end-papers otherwise clean and free from inscriptions. The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. Just a little loss at the spine ends. Light edge-wear with a small closed tear to the upper front edge. A very light small stain to the lower spine tip. The red titling and decorations to the spine and covers remains bright. Only a hint of toning to the spine. The wrapper looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham with 20 tipped-in mounted full page colour plates (including the frontispiece) and 25 B/W drawings. The Tempest is among Gettings' survey of Rackham's Best Book Illustrations. (Gettings pp. 151, 153 and 180). An exceptionally sharp copy of the first Rackham edition of 'The Tempest'. Collectible.
