The First UK printing published by Faber and Faber, London in 1969. 8vo., black publisher's cloth, lettered typographically in gilt to spine; housed in the unclipped printed wrapper (priced '21s' to front flap); The BOOK is in near Fine condition ; The WRAPPER Is inn Very Good++ condition with a little rubbing at the edges with some light even shelf wear. Some light toning and age related markings to the panels and couple of light scratches and creases. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. Signed (without dedication) by Tom Stoppard to the front free endpaper. Two plays for radio, both of which were first broadcast for the BBC's Third Programme. 'Albert's Bridge' follows the life of a philosophy graduate named Albert, who is hired to paint a bridge over Clufton Bay. It won the 'Prix Italia' award in 1968, and originally starred John Hurt in the title role. 'If You're Glad I'll be Frank' contains a similarly intriguing plot, when the protagonist recognises the voice of the GPO speaking clock as that of his long-lost wife. An increasingly scarce title with such attributes. (Warner C2 a).
