Thomas, Edward & Neal, Arthur (Illus.) ~ Eight Poems by Edward Thomas : With Etchings By Arthur Neal
Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, London : 1973
The sole UK printing most likely published by the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, London in 1973. The BOOK is in Fine condition. Hand-set and printed in 24-point Bembo on heavy Royal Cornwall paper, and numbered '3' of only 5 copies. Signed by the artist to the limitation page. There were also eight copies on Velin Cuvee paper. Illustrated with 6 full-page and 7 smaller etchings from zinc plates. One of a total bound edition of ten copies in full natural morocco with gilt spine lettering. The binding was undertaken by James Brockman in 1973 with his name and bindery blind-stamp to the upper leather edge of the rear turn in. The acclaimed binder had set up this, his first bindery in 1973. Arthur Neal studied at Camberwell School of Art, 1969-74, and the colophon states that the plates were proofed 1972-73. Neal went on to further illustrate a 'Centenary Celebration of Edward Thomas' in 1978. A very handsome production. Protected in a loose Mylar archival cover.
