The sole UK printing published by Lion and Unicorn Press, London in 1953. One of only 50 copies issued. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Some very light age related markings and toning to the edges. Internally clean. Free from inscriptions and erasures. The book was Gentleman's first commission as a book illustrator and it was also designed by him. Front cover design and profusely illustrated with wood engravings by David Gentleman. A very handsome and scarce production. The book is protected in a removable Mylar archival cover. Only the second copy that we have handled.
