The gilt titling is bright. Some light spotting to the prelims. Free from erasures and inscriptions The WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition with a touch of edge-wear to the upper spine with slight loss. Some light toning to the spine and a small closed tear to the front lower spine fold. The Antony Gross wrapper artwork look striking in the removable Brodart archival protector. Accompanied by the very scarce promotional wraparound BAND which is in near Fine condition with just a little edge-wear, creasing and rubbing. The book has been signed by the author to the front blank end-paper : ‘With Best wishes, William Golding’. The Nobel Laureate’s second novel and his personal favourite. Only 5080 copies printed. A very scarce title to find signed and with the promotional band. Highly collectible with such attributes.
